the federation agreement

The Federation Agreement of First Federated Church, written in 1937, was revised in 1992. It says in part: Happiness is a serendipitous byproduct of pursuing a cause greater than myself. It is something I do, something I do with others, something I do for others. I covenant with God and this congregation…

To worship (something I do)

  • attend most of the worship services offered through the year by our church
  • bring friends to share in our worship and activities
  • improve my knowledge by participating in one or more of our educational programs

To have fellowship (something I do with others)

  • enjoy one another as we serve others together
  • enhance our life together by participating in a fellowship activity or social group
  • initiate and develop new friendships with others in our church

To support stewardship (something I do for others)

  • to serve others together in the ministry we share
  • to volunteer my time and talents by serving on a church committee or project
  • to make a pledge of my resources to the work of the church
  • to identify a person(s) in need and respond to that need
