  • Pretiola (Pretzel) Sunday is February 21, 2010
We involve children of all ages in a special pre-Lenten service where we shape bread in the form of crossed arms and bake pretzels, reminding us that Lent is a time of prayer. The pretzel was the ancient Christians’ Lenten bread in fourth century. In many places in Europe, pretzels are served only from Ash Wednesday to Easter, thus keeping the ancient symbolism alive. Our children are delighted and impressed when they hear the true story of the pretzel.

  • Tenebrae Communion Service
On Maundy Thursday in Lent we commemorate Jesus’ last supper in a meaningful, evening Tenebrae Communion Service

  • Palm Sunday Service
Children receive palms in this heartfelt family service celebrating the end of Lent and beginning of Holy Week. The First Federated choir, organist, brass and string musicians bring the Psalms to life in a magnificent musical service (usually the first Sunday in May).

  • Easter
On Easter morning we have a glorious service of music and celebration. White lilies donated in memory of loved ones fill our chancel and spill down the steps into the sanctuary.

Christmas Advent Services

  • Gingerbread House Party (a Sunday afternoon at Christmas time)
This is a festive event for the whole family and people of all ages. We gather in fellowship hall to enjoy a light dinner, games and the making of holiday crafts including gingerbread houses and gingerbread men.

  • Children's Christmas Pageant
Our children are the stars of this Sunday morning worship service as they act out the birth of Christ in our chancel, complete with songs, costumes and sets.

  • Chancel Choir Cantata
Our Chancel Choir and special guests inspire us with a magnificent medley of Christmas music during this Sunday morning worship service.

  • Christmas Eve Services
    5:00 p.m. Family Service   11:00 p.m. Candlelight Service
