The Preschools at First Federated Church
"Instill a life-long love of learning in our children through positive first experiences in an educational environment."
Serving our Peoria community for over 60 years, the First Federated Church Preschool Program has established itself as a highly regarded program. Licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, our preschool program teaches children essential pre-kindergarten skills, including socialization, language and physical development in a loving and nurturing Christian environment.
First Federated Church’s Preschool Program is a weekday program for children 2 years through six years of age. We offer both HALF DAY and FULL DAY preschool with Before and After Care options. It gives children an opportunity to learn readiness skills in a structured environment and is open to the public. Registration begins in February and continues as long as openings exist.
Our goal is for children and families to enjoy their time with us. Please contact us, as we’re happy to answer questions and give you a tour!
Full Day Preschool
Full Day Preschool for 2 to 5 years old
Our full-day preschool program will prepare your child for life-long learning while offering a unique opportunity to be immersed in an art-infused curriculum, with an additional emphasis on social development, creativity with high-order thinking skills, and academic school readiness skills. As part of the program children will gain experience in core academic areas, as well as drama, music, dancing, and crafts. Children will also have gross motor time on an outdoor playground or indoor gymnasium, lunch, snacks, and time to rest. The full-day program will benefit your child as they discover, experiment, and are nurtured in their learning environment.
Half Day Preschool
Half Day Preschool for 2 to 5 years old
Our curriculum provides hands-on educational experiences through numerous learning centers, including math, science, art, reading, dramatic play, big blocks, small blocks, manipulatives, and sand. Our activities help in the development of both large- and small-motor coordination, as well as nurture the child’s imagination. We seek to engender a sense of independence, cooperation, and social development with the overarching goal of kindergarten preparedness. Units of study include "body works" (human body), geography, families, solar system, rain forest, butterflies, and artists. Our approach relies on encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Our Summer Camps offer activities for ages 2 years old to 10 years to keep your child active, learning, and entertained through the summer months.
- We will plan each week around a different theme: Camping, Animals, Science, and Sports.
- We will also take several field trips.
- Snacks and lunch are included.
Summer Camps will begin on June 6th, and ends on Friday, August 5th.
We are closed for the 4th of July.
